Foundations of Cybersecurity
Core cyber security fundamentals spanning endpoints, networks, web security, IAM, SOC and governance.

We are a cyber security institute in Bangalore built on one conviction: this subject is not learned through theory alone. It is mastered through practice, exposure and guided execution, which is why roughly half of every Vistramind programme is spent inside a lab rather than in front of a slide deck.
Cyber security is mastered through practice, exposure and guided execution. Our training is delivered by people currently working in the field, a SOC and VAPT analyst at TCS, and the founder of an AI-security company with eighteen years behind him. What you learn therefore reflects how security decisions are actually made inside organisations, including the compromises, the noise and the constraints that textbooks leave out.
Real attack simulations and defensive exercises that mirror enterprise SOC environments. You learn by defending systems, not reading about threats.
Threat detection, vulnerability assessment and incident response worked end to end, so the first real incident you see is not your first incident.
Curriculum mapped to CEH, C|CT, CSA, CPENT and CHFI, so exam preparation and job preparation are the same body of work.
Guidance from named instructors who work in security today, plus resume building, mock interviews and placement assistance for the move into a security role.
Job-aligned training from beginner foundations through to EC-Council certifications, delivered with hands-on labs, practitioner-led instruction and placement support.

For complete beginners and students exploring the field.
For career changers and graduates targeting a first security job.
For learners who want portfolio evidence, not just a certificate.
Not full-time trainers reciting a syllabus. Both instructors hold current security roles, which is why the labs reflect how incidents actually get handled.

Two of the scenarios learners work through during the Professional and Career Accelerator tracks.
Learners analyse a simulated breach at a financial institution involving exposed customer records. Through guided labs they identify attack vectors, analyse logs, apply security controls and design mitigation aligned to compliance requirements.
Skills developed: threat detection and breach analysis, security control implementation, compliance and risk mapping, incident documentation.
A ransomware scenario impacting a healthcare network. Students practise incident response workflow, system recovery planning and defensive hardening to restore operations and prevent recurrence, under the time pressure the real thing carries.
Skills developed: containment and eradication, recovery planning, defensive hardening, stakeholder reporting.
★★★★★“I had no prior cyber security background, but the Foundations course made everything clear and structured. The sessions on networking, endpoints and SOC basics helped me understand how real attacks and defences work. The case studies gave me confidence that I can actually work in a security role.”
★★★★★“What stood out was the practical approach. Instead of theory, we worked on real incident scenarios, log analysis and SIEM basics. The instructor explained concepts from an industry perspective, and the sessions showed how security decisions get made in real organisations.”
★★★★★“The EC-Council aligned training helped me connect certification topics with real use cases. Incident response, risk and compliance finally made sense when explained through practical examples. This course gave me both technical clarity and career direction.”
For a complete beginner the practical answer is a programme that includes fundamentals rather than assuming them. Our 120-hour Cybersecurity Basics Mastery Course is designed for exactly this: it starts from networking and operating system basics and finishes at entry-level SOC readiness. If you want to test the field first with a smaller commitment, the 20-hour Foundations course is the lower-risk starting point.
Yes, and a meaningful share of our learners do. The transferable skills that matter most are analytical thinking, attention to detail and clear written communication. All of which auditors, testers, support staff and even non-technical professionals already have. What you will need to build from scratch is networking and operating system knowledge, which our foundation modules cover before any security content begins.
Yes. Weekend and evening batches run at our Marathahalli centre and online. Most of our career-change learners complete their programme while working full time, which is why lab environments stay accessible outside scheduled session hours.
Our curriculum is aligned to EC-Council frameworks and prepares learners for CEH, C|CT, CSA, CPENT and CHFI. Certification exams are administered by EC-Council and priced separately from training. We will tell you exactly what a voucher costs before you enrol.
We provide resume building, mock interviews and introductions to hiring opportunities. We deliberately do not promise guaranteed placement. Any institute offering a job guarantee is either charging you for the risk or defining 'placement' loosely. Ask them to put the definition in writing.
We are at Vistra Mind Innovation LLP, 4th Floor, No. 93/9, Novel MSR Park Office, Munnekolala Village, Varthur Hobli, Bengaluru Urban, Karnataka 560037.
